Hesperiidae

Lamas (2004) has listed for the Neotropic region 35 genera within 4 tribes of the Pyrrhopyginae. More than 30 species in this subfamily have recorded occurrence at Amazonas, Pará, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, where are contemplated the genera: Aspitha, Myscelus, Passova, Croniades, Elbella, Gunayan, Jamadia, Mysoria, Nosphistia, Parelbella, Protelbella, Pyrrhopyge, Yanguna, Zonia. Complex mimetic groups.

Two decades of work in Costa Rica provided great contribution especially in relation to immatures (Burns & Janzen 2001). Notes about  biology of some species from Pará and Amazonas can be found in Moss (1949).
