Natural History:

In the Neotropic more than 30 species are described in Magneuptychia (Lamas, 2004). Magneuptychia tricolor occurs throughout the year and is often caught in traps fruit, especially males. By observing the dorsal face of the wings this species is easily recognized. When resting on the floor is cryptic and almost imperceptible.

Adult feed on rotting fruit, vegetal fluids
