Natural History:

Are recorded 14 species of Heliopetes, distributed from Mexico to Argentina.

In addition to this record in Brazilian Amazon, Lamas (2004) show record in Suriname.

This species is easily collected on flowers of small shrubs, in roads and pastures bordering the forest.

In localities around Manaus this species occurs throughout the year.

Caterpillar are recorded feeding on Malvaceae (Sida sp.) Plants of the another genera of  Malvaceae e Sterculiaceae are recorded in Costa Rica (Beccaloni et al. 2008).
