Natural History:

Archaeoprepona has 8 species in the Neotropics (Lamas, 2004). Among the 5 species recorded in the central Amazon, Archaeoprepona demophon is the most abundant. Occurs throughout the year, and is more frequent in the understory, although it is also observed in the stratum of canopy.

According to observations made ​​by Berti Filho & Cerignoni (2010), females lay isolated eggs and caterpillars are rarely found on the same host-plant. The caterpillars are large (about 8cm) and have an appearance cryptic. In the pupa stage are green.
