Chrysoplectrum perna Evans, 1952

According Lamas (2004) ten species of the Chrysoplectrum are described for the Neotropical region.

Some butterflies of these group have coloration dark green coloration, which makes them difficult to see in the forest. The observer must be stoppedl for a few minutes to track and following their movements before trying to collect.

In surveys conducted around Manaus, Amazonas during 1 year, this species was rare. Can be found also with swarms of army ants.

Adult can be observed feeding on bird droppings.

Caterpillars of the genus Chrysoplectrum are recorded feeding on plants Leguminosae - Caesalpinioideae (Beccaloni et al. 2008).
