Natural History:

About 21 subspecies are described, with recorded occurrence in all Amazonian countries (Lamas, 2004). This species is observed flying  in understory and canopy, but the varied pattern of colors makes it difficult to fast identification. The capture by traps baited with alcaloids plant Heliotropum (Boraginaceae), reveals greater abundance in the understory and on months of lower rainfall (Araújo, 2006).

Bolivia; Brasil; Colombia; Costa Rica; Ecuador; Panamá; Perú; Venezuela
Feeding Adult:

Adults feed on flowers of Eupatorium (Asteraceae)

Feeding Caterpillars:

These species plants are recorded in Brazil according to (Beccaloni et al. 2008).

Solanaceae: Solanum asperum, Solanum granuloso-leprosum, Solanum mauritianum, Solanum rugosum, Solanum stramoniifolium.
